Louis XV Canape Sofa

A stunning 19C French Louis XV style canape sofa, newly painted in Farrow & Ball's Off White. It has been upholstered using a wonderful French vintage linen sheet sourced from an old monastery. Double piped. The back of the sofa has been recovered in a vintage ticking fabric, as it would have been when made.

The item 'canapé' sofa has been given its name as these delicious appetisers were traditionally eaten in the drawing room before dinner, and most commonly enjoyed whilst sat on these pieces of furniture. The sofa has a floral carved wooden frame and shaped skirt, resting on six dainty cabriole legs. Stunning.
